![]() Know I have no car and being expected of paying a car note. I only had this car 2 months and I feel as if this was known before the car was sold. ![]() I had to get towed which cost money out of my pocket. Maybe 2 days later it's does the same thing and the car shut down and wouldn't change any gears. I start driving it again because I don't have a car and I have to get back and forth to work. I try to restart the car and take to the dealer where I bought it and was told they could do nothing and they were backed for 3 months and they just cleared out the message. I was driving my car and then all of a sudden it's starts to jerk and make this clanking sound and stops in the middle of traffic.a indicator check engine light pops in and the service transmission soon.thank God there was no accident due to quick thinking. The failure mileage was approximately 65,900. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would not assist unless she purchased a used engine as the engine production had been discontinued. The dealer informed the contact that she needed to pay out-of-pocket for the repair because the failure could not be repaired under warranty. The dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that coolant was leaking into the engine and the engine block was cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where four spark plugs were replaced however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that at times she would veer to the side of the road for a moment before resuming normal driving. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle hesitated to respond and started shuddering. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Legacy Ford (27225 Southwest Fwy, Rosenberg, TX 77471, (281)342-5611) where a diagnostic test and repair was unknown. The contact stated that while driving there was an abnormal clapping noise detected with no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer where it was diagnosed that there was coolant intrusion into the cylinder head and that an engine replacement was needed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer in Kansas where the contact was informed that the failure was due to a friction plate issue however, the vehicle was not repaired. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal clapping sound detected. To add to this, mutiple vehicles were there for the same issue as mine, including new Broncos. There is even a class action lawsuit with this as well, as people are being scammed into paying for a whole new engine when it should have been paid for by Ford Mo Co. Ford has a service bulletin for my engine and they need replaced! They are intentionally trying to get away with not fixing the engine while it is still under warranty. I have to add about 1 quart of coolant every week to two weeks, which is definitely not -€œfine-€. The dealership did not fix my problem at all. I did not take it on the trip because I was worried something catastrophic to the engine would happen. I only have 3000 miles left before the warranty expires and the service manager told me it would be fine to drive on our trip that we were getting ready to take. They kept my vehicle for a day to run a pressure test, but oddly enough it passed the pressure test and they could not find any leaks. I then made an appointment with the dealership to see if they could find anything. ![]() Afterwards, I inspected the vehicle further to check for any external leaks and could not find any, but my reservoir was much lower when I check again. Afterwards, I refilled the coolant reservoir and continued driving for another week to make sure the coolant was leaking. After investigating, I noticed the coolant level was low and there was residue on the valve cover. For the past few months I have been noticing a hot coolant smell from outside the vehicle. ![]()
